Speaking Wisely

Proverbs 22:17-19

These verses explain that whatever God tells you, don’t take it casually. On the contrary, you must take every Word of wisdom or knowledge from the Bible seriously. In Matthew, we see that Jesus often spoke in Parables, and many didn’t understand, but the disciples inclined their ears, showed interest, made an effort to reach out to Him and requested Him to explain the meaning, and Jesus gladly did that.

To incline or apply implies that we try to secure it in our hearts and live by it with due diligence. (Provers 22:18) tells us that our words will be influenced by our knowledge and wisdom, making them pleasant to all who hear them and eventually impacting our environment. (Proverbs 22:19) teaches that God’s Words of wisdom will affect our trust in Him. Note that God’s Word is available to all. While few choose to ignore it, few pay casual attention, and some chew on God’s Word, which is to incline, understand and apply, and they are the ones who will experience the power of God’s Word.

Dear brothers and sisters, our God is trustworthy. He never fails; the problem lies in us if we can trust Him. The Words of wisdom and knowledge from the Bible will enable us to trust God. So, as you read the Word of God, incline your ear to hear the voice of God’s wisdom. Put that Word in your heart to make or become a part of your life. Over the days, you will notice that your speech will change, and people will be blessed as you speak; your trust will be in the Lord, and when that happens, there will be no failure.
