Call to Repentance

Zechariah 1:3

Whenever the Bible addresses God as the Lord of Hosts, it implies God is talking as a commander of chief of the armies – one who is bestowed with highest power and authority. Here, we read God’s invitation to return to Him and a definite assurance that He will return to us. In James 4:8, we again read this powerful promise – Draw near to me and I will draw near to you.

Often time, God stretches forth His hand so that we may come to Him but we either delay or deny His invitation. James 1:14 cautions that we might be trapped into thinking that it is impossible to come out of our temptations and the wicked one is active to draw us away from God. Always remember that this entrapment is to steal, kill, destroy the peace, joy and fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives. However, our God lovingly asks us to return to Him because only when we turn to Him, we will see His grace power and love working for us in our lives.

Dear child of God, I encourage you to respond to this loving call from God. Even before we take a step, just turning to Him – which means, turning away from the wrong way is enough for the Lord of Hosts. The God of angel armies is ready to destroy the powers of darkness to set you free. He will not only revive, but will also restore everything that we lost if only we make an effort to return to Him.

God bless!
