True Reverence
Isaiah 66:1-2
Through this verse, God reminds us that He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything we see exists because of Him. No building or great work done by human hands can contain God. After building a magnificent temple for the Lord, King Solomon realized that the great God who created the heavens and the earth cannot be confined to a temple built by man.
We often approach God with our own strength and achievements, believing He values our efforts. However, God seeks a humble heart that comes to Him like a child—reverent and ready to listen. Our education, talents, and good works cannot earn His acceptance. Instead, we must approach Him with a broken spirit, recognizing that without Him, we are nothing. The parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector illustrate this: while the Pharisee boasted of his deeds and was not accepted, the humble tax collector sought mercy and found favor with God. This shows that God values humility over our works.
Dear child of God, remember that the creator of heaven and earth lovingly looks for a humble and repentant heart. God delights in lifting those who feel weak and small. When we humble ourselves before Him, He fills us with His grace, and works powerfully in our lives. Let us therefore, come to God by laying aside our pride, ego, and self-confidence and turn away from our own ways to see His grace, power, and love working in our lives.
Blessings!
