Hope

We Have Hope

The early Church endured and survived the great persecution with prayer and preaching the Gospel. Even though they were scattered, attacked, and suffered many untold miseries, they still went from town to town carrying the Good News of Christ. It is amazing to note that extreme suffering and persecution opened new avenues for Gospel and every hopeless condition brought in new hope and opportunity.

Like the early Church, we could also experience harsh situations in our daily lives. It can be vandalism, threat, physical violence, discrimination, workplace harassment or boycotting because of our faith or even murder. In such situations, let’s remember the words of Jesus, who cautioned us not to be surprised or be anxious when we face suffering and that it is bound to come to anyone who witnesses for Him. Only prayer and hope in Him will carry us through and like the early Church, let’s continue to preach irrespective of our sufferings and misfortunes.

Dear believer in Christ, as the Lord leads and provides, I encourage you to press on with faith amid persecution. Remember that during the great persecution, Saul the oppressor was the best disciple in the making. Similarly, let’s hope that God will raise an army of disciples for future generations while we endure suffering.

God Bless!
